Raffaello Information

altRaffaello is an imported 16.3hh 100 day tested and Verband approved elite Hanoverian stallion. A proven competitor in the hunter, jumper and dressage rings, Raffaello wins fans with his beauty, athleticism, kind nature and
exempliary manners.  He embodies a simple goodness and kindness, a gentle curiosity and respect.

In addition to showring perfomances, in 2010 he stands as required throughout the show season and  sires outstanding premium warmblood and sporthorse offspring that are exceeding their owners expectations.

altIn his 100 day test, Raffaello scored 9's for his temperament, willingness to work, ability to work, character and jumping, placing him 4th out of 37 stallions in the jumping component of his test. The judges at his 100 day test in Germany stated "He is very careful and has tremendous scope over fences. He is also a nice type and very good mover".

In 2000 Henk Bouwman commented on his personal picks for jumper talent for all of the Hanoverian, Holsteiner, Trakehner, Oldenberg and Westfalian keurings for 1999, Raffaello is among those listed as one of his personal favourites.
"And just the odd jumping star was fit for the show of champions. To mention a few (my personal) favourites...No.69 (Raffaello) by Raphael, dams sire Foxhunter- Don Juan...”~Henk Bouwman, Z Magazine

Raffaello further was selected by committee as one of the stallions for the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program in North America. He is fully approved for the Hanoverian Verband, American Hanoverian Society, American Warmblood Registry, ISR Oldenburg, Canadian Warmblood and Canadian Sporthorse, the Continental Studbook  and the Rheinland Pfalz Saar.  He is imparting his own elegant presence to his offspring, excellant toplines with gorgeous heads set on beautiful necks, correct and balanced conformation with sloping shoulder and excellant hips.  They tend to exhibit correct, fluid uphill movement with Raffaello's lovely jump.   His offspring are often commented on as exquisite out of a variety of mares, they show all round athleticism and are remarked to be wonderful characters, easy to handle and a joy to own.

He is by the proven producer Raphael, sire of numerous top level international jumping and dressage horses including: Rio Grande, Radiator, Robinson, Ravallo, Raggazzo and more.  Raffaello's dam, Fiola, is by the recently deceased Foxhunter (Spruce Meadows). Foxhunter produced Fortunas an Olympian in the show jumping in Athens 2004. Foxhunter's sire Watzmann produced an Olympic gold medallist, Walzerkonig. Foxhunter's dam carries the blood of both Inschalah and Absatz. Fiola's dam is by Don Juan from the same D line that produced the International Show Jumper Dollar Girl amongst many other top jumpers and successful stallions such as Drosselklang II.  It is the genetic prepotency of these lineages that give all round ability equally for movement and jumping ability and warmblood and sporthorse offspring are being produced for hunter, jumper, dressage and eventing across North America.

We invite your consideration of this wonderful sporthorse stallion for breeding a dream foal from your mare.
